I saw you in my sleep again.
In the forest, everything is green and moist as I stroll through the towering trees looking up at the dark clouds that are following me, filled with ready rain. As I walk deeper into the green abyss, I see you sitting against one of the oak trees. You're wearing that T-shirt I love. The "tree hugger" one. As soon as I see you, a strange feeling overcomes me. You know how, sometimes when someone's said something that's surprised you, startled you? Like you've been completely caught off-guard? I feel like that. You haven't seen me yet and I keep quiet. I don't know whether or not to come any closer. I barely move an inch but the sharp sound of the branch beneath me foot breaking is enough for you to turn and realise my presence. I feel even more alarmed now and quickly regret taking that one step. You sit there simply staring at me and slowly, the stare forms into a smile, a welcoming sort of smile. So I smile back and walk towards you. You bend down and softly press your lips to mine. So softly, that the touch is almost undetectable; but enough to know it's happened. I wake up still hearing the wind passing through the leaves as chymes and the water flowing from the nearby river.
